So one recent Saturday morning while drinking my coffee I thought “it’s now or never”! I knew that once the garage became populated with tools and other projects, it would never get painted. So I got to work moving boxes inside, removing nails, screws, etc.
This little garage is not even close to my dream shop but it is way better than what I had before (nothing). Luckily the shed out back has nearly the same foot print and helps for storing larger items.
I don’t want to invest a ton of time and money into this small space but I need to make the most of it. As usual, efficiency is the name of the game in small spaces. So in addition to getting creative with storage and work surfaces, I want to make this modest 18′ x 9.5′ area feel larger and brighter and cleaner.
The white walls will help boost the LED light fixtures that I plan to install and the clean look makes for a more pleasant workspace. Plus I only had to buy one gallon of paint since there was some leftover from the previous owners.
I guess one nice thing about having a small garage is that there isn’t a whole lot to paint or clean up! It doesn’t look like much from the photos but the space looks and feels much better, even with the dingy T12 fluorescent dangling light fixtures (with one bulb bunt out). Lighting and storage upgrades to follow…
